Eyes Cream Gel Pencil Eyeliner review

I found these while shopping on Qoo10. It's an e-commerce website owned by eBay. Here is the link where I bought them from.

I got these at a bargain, a buy one get one free plus 20% off! These are originally ¥1200 each. I was surprised to learn that they were made in Germany!

Gel Liners are my favourites! They do an amazing job lining your eyes with the right consistency and stroke lines (subtle and smooth)

left is Bitter brown and right is Milk Brown

I noticed that once I leave them to dry for 3 minutes, they are waterproof.

pros:

  • waterproof
  • nice consistency
  • easy to store (can twist up and twist down)
  • smudgy look (not sure whether this is a pro or con)

cons:

  • how difficult it is to get the lid/cap off
  • sometimes you end up with double strokes (the shape of the tip is not perfectly rounded off perfectly)
  • the strokes are not sharp (quite smudgy, like eye shadow)

Like most gel eyeliners, this is a twist up and twist down type, which makes it easy to store and to get the right length of the liner.

The only drawback about this is just HOW HARD IT IS TO GET THE LID/CAP off!!... This has been my frustration ever since I started using this, especially in mornings.

Fix this lid/cap and it will almost be the perfect eyeliner.

score: 7.5/10 (if you add in the lid factor - 5/10)

花王SOFINA iP 土台美容液 review

I stumbled on a really cool product a few weeks ago at my local drug store. At first I thought it was some facial washing foam, however, after reading what it is, I discovered it was actually a foam serum!... Now, THAT is something I have never seen nor heard of.

I instantly became intrigued and despite its hefty ¥3000 price tag, I had to get it both to quench my curiosity and for you, my blog.

a quick scan of the instructions and info pamphlet told me that this is a carbon serum (which explains the foam).

The carbon bubbles are used to create better blood circulation helping your skin glow.

They say it is suitable for dry skin and it is one of their highest density products. The product is supposed to help moisturize, create elasticity and give your skin a creamy smooth finish.

impressions:

  • foam for your face
  • soda for your face
  • love the subtle floral smell
  • foam disappears quickly
  • sensitive skin needs time adjusting to product
  • made skin feel soft but very dry

the foam turned flat before I could snap a picture

My skin would break out in one area each time I used this for the first three weeks I used this product, they were extremely painful and I was well aware it was this serum causing the problem. Once you get past this stage, your skin will be more accepting of it.

While it did make my skin very smooth, my skin was very dry and vulnerable. I would always immediately put some moisturizer and other products so my skin doesn't dehydrate.

I have mixed feelings over this product. I'm not sure whether I will purchase it again.

score: 7/10

Daiso's Peel Off Nail Polish review

Daiso's Peel Off Nail Polish review

in my last post about Daiso products, I had a bad experience, but let me tell you about something great I found at Daiso in this post.

Daiso's Peel Off Manicure was something that caught my eye when I was looking for their nail polish remover.

Although they need to work on their colour selection. I was able to grab a bottle I wanted to try. I couldn't take a picture as the store was completely packed (I was there on a Saturday afternoon).

Peel off nail polishes aren't new to me. I use to have a small collection but hated them because they were hard to spread... (in fact the few bottles I had made it seem as if I was spreading thick Elmer's School Glue and trying to make it fit onto the surface of my nails) so I was taking chances when I picked up this bottle.

Daiso's Peel Off Nail Polish review
my nails

I was sick when I applied this nail polish... apologies for the crappy application

pros:

  • very thin and easy to apply
  • the colour payoff is good (very opaque)
  • one coat is all you need (you don't even need a base coat!)
  • no nail polish scent (there was no scent to it)
  • dries very fast (only took less than 5 minutes, and I only needed one coat)
  • brush complemented my nail shapes very well
  • easy to spread
  • did not tint my nails
after showering

after chores >___<

cons:

  • avoid any sharp objects, once there is a tear, you will have to peel it off
  • not ideal for those who have to do a lot of chores or hands-on work
  • unless if you put a few layers (since it is thin) you won't have the satisfying one peel
  • a bit hard to "peel" I would suggest using some tools to assist
  • very temporary
  • hard to remove

this was the result of the bits taken from one nail

to my surprise... and I was very surprised... this nail polish was very thin and easy to apply. It felt lighter than regular nail polish but once it dried it was completely opaque.

You can tell from the list of pros I am definitely very happy with my ¥100 Peel-Off Nail Polish.
I'm seriously considering to add a top coat and seal it so it can last longer. However, that being said, I wasn't impressed as it didn't "peel-off" as easily as the company claims, in fact, I didn't know how to get rid of it. Nail Polish remover did not remove it... I ended up having to scratch it or file it out... which was terrible.

What started out as a good product ended up being a "meh" product :(

うま辛麻辣麺 review

I FINALLY FOUND IT!! Thanks to Facebook's archive feature, I found this post!!! I posted it about a year ago on facebook and somehow couldn't find it.

As my post indicated:

THIS. WAS. HOT.!!!! Even hotter than the Korean Chicken world's spiciest instant ramen 😳🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

it looks harmless but... IT IS HOT

I was trying to tell my friends but I couldn't find this picture on my phone... but here it is! These are the hottest noodles I have ever had (it is WAY hotter than the Korean super hot noodles). Notice that these are soup noodles... I can't imagine them before they were diluted DX.

score: how do you put a score on something you can't fully eat?
hotness and spicy level: 10/10 (too much for Stephanie)

I dare you to try :P

Daiso's Crayon Hand Mask review

I love masks... you can tell from reading this blog. I use hair masks, face masks, etc. So when I came across this hand mask I got very excited.

instructions

the instructions are very simple, you take out the product and rip the 2 gloves apart and put your hands in for 20 minutes and your hands are supposed to feel nicely conditioned (notice I use the word "supposed").

impressions:

  • has a nice artificial rose scent
  • gloves were way too big for my hands
  • my hands felt well conditioned the first 30 or so minutes
  • your hands will feel the need for more hand cream after using the mask
  • gave my hands eczema
I like the gloves so I might but them and wash out the product and use them for my own hand mask. The gloves were a double layer, the outside layer is made of a plastic material to hold in the product while the inner layer has a cotton texture material.

I really liked the product because it smelled good and it initially made my hands feel very soft but after it gave my hands eczema I stopped using it. I went to my dermatologist (it got very serious) and my dermatologist said I had some kind of fungal infection. It took me months to get the skin on my hands back to their normal state.
