McDonald's Pistachio Cloud Iced Coffee review

McDonald's Pistachio Cloud Iced Coffee ☁️☕

The moment I saw this Pistachio Cloud Iced Coffee on McDonald's menu, I knew I had to try it! It combines two of my favourite flavours: pistachio and coffee. And this did not disappoint at all!

In fact, for a limited-time menu item, this coffee has been available on McDonald's and McCafΓ© menus for over two months, and I'm so glad it has stuck around for this long! I hope it becomes a permanent item because it tastes so good!!

First impressions:

  • The perfect pistachio flavour: Just the right amount of pistachio flavour without tasting artificial.

  • Sweet rather than savoury: The pistachio cream is sweet, so if you're hoping for a salty pistachio flavour, this might not be for you.

  • A fun cloud effect: The pistachio-flavoured cream slowly sinks and melts into the coffee as time passes, creating a fun visual transformation.

  • One minor downside: Drinking too much of the foam on its own leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste and a thin film on my tongue.

The flavour

When I first ordered it, I was a little nervous. What if the pistachio tasted artificial? What if the pistachio flavour was too light?

But I'm glad that the moment I tried it… it was perfect! ❤️

It has just the right amount of pistachio flavour, and it definitely doesn't taste artificial. However, it is on the sweeter side, so if you're a pistachio fan who prefers a more savoury or salty pistachio flavour, this might not be the drink for you.

The coffee itself is strong enough to hold its own, since it uses a black coffee base. The pistachio-flavoured foam provides all the sweetness and creaminess, which I think works really well! You get that strong coffee flavour balanced by the sweet, nutty pistachio cream, without the coffee itself needing to be sweetened or made creamy.

For me, though, the combination of pistachio and coffee works beautifully! ❤️

Why is it called "Cloud" Coffee?

The reason it's called Cloud Coffee is that, as you drink it or simply let it sit, the pistachio-flavoured cream slowly sinks into the coffee and melts away like a cloud.

This is definitely a drink where you can take your time and "wait till you get home" instead of racing against the clock! The longer you leave it alone, the more the cream mixes into the coffee.

Of course, you can always grab a coffee stirrer and mix it yourself, but there's something fun about watching the foam slowly sink into the coffee and seeing the drink transform. ☁️

My one complaint

My only complaint is the slightly bitter aftertaste I get when I drink too much of the foam on its own. It also leaves a thin film on my tongue, which I'm not particularly fond of.

So, if I'm in a rush, I'll mix the foam into the coffee myself. If I'm not, I'll just let the foam settle naturally and enjoy watching the cloud slowly disappear into the coffee.

Conclusion

I absolutely love this Pistachio Cloud Iced Coffee! ❤️ The strong black coffee pairs beautifully with the sweet pistachio cream, and the cloud effect makes drinking it a little more fun than your usual iced coffee.

My only real complaint is the slightly bitter aftertaste and film left on my tongue when I drink too much foam on its own, but that's easily managed by letting it settle or mixing it into the coffee.

For a limited-time drink, this one has really impressed me. It's been around for over two months, and I'm still hoping McDonald's will make it a permanent menu item. Because honestly… pistachio and coffee are such a good combination!

McDonald's World Heist - French Cheesy Bacon McFlavour Fries Review

French Cheesy Bacon McFlavour Fries

I usually order McDonald's fries plain… with salt… because plain and simple is exactly what makes McDonald's fries taste so good!

However, every so often, a special comes along, and I'm intrigued… (although, to be fair, they've all been a bit disappointing so far, from their Shake Shake Fries in Asia to their poutine attempts in Canada).

And unfortunately, these French Cheesy Bacon McFlavour Fries from their World Heist menu are no different.

When will I ever learn? >___<

I was actually excited to try these because they're an exclusive menu item served in France!

They're exactly as described: McDonald's fries topped with bacon strips and melted nacho cheese sauce. The combination itself is good… I liked the combination! The problem was the execution.

First impressions:

  • Good flavour combination: Fries, bacon, and nacho cheese sauce should work well together.

  • Not enough cheese: There wasn't nearly enough cheese sauce to coat the fries. At the current ratio, only about 10 fries had even some cheese on them!

  • Not enough bacon: For something called Cheesy Bacon Fries, I expected more bacon.

  • Dry, oversized bacon strips: The bacon was a bit dry, and the strips were too big to eat comfortably with the fries.

  • The toppings didn't come together: Instead of enjoying everything in one bite, I ended up eating the fries, the bacon, and the few cheesy fries separately… which defeats the whole purpose of this menu item!

My thoughts

For an item to be called Cheesy Bacon Fries, I expected more of both the cheese and the bacon!

The cheese sauce needed at least triple the amount they provided just to coat the fries properly. And while the bacon added flavour, the strips were a little too dry and too big to pair nicely with the fries.

I ended up eating the fries and bacon separately, with the occasional fry that had some cheese sauce on it. πŸ˜‚

Honestly, if I'm ordering cheesy bacon fries, I want to be able to enjoy all three components together in every bite! Otherwise, what's the point of putting them together in the first place?

McDonald's fries are already so well made, so I can understand the challenge of trying to reinvent them or "improve" them. But I'm sure there's a way to make a special version that works!

Conclusion

Unfortunately, these French Cheesy Bacon McFlavour Fries were another disappointing attempt at reinventing McDonald's fries. The combination of fries, bacon, and cheese sauce is a good one, but the execution really let it down. There wasn't enough cheese, there wasn't enough bacon, and the bacon itself was a little too dry and chunky to enjoy properly with the fries.

At this point, maybe I should just stick to my usual plain fries with salt. πŸ˜‚ But I still hope McDonald's gets creative and comes up with a better fries special next time!

Kit-sch seamless elastic Hair Ties review

One moment I was looking for good-quality hair ties; the next, these Kit-sch (or Kitsch) started popping up everywhere!

They are all over Instagram (in the form of ads and recommendations) and all over Amazon as suggested items to have.

At Kitsch, hair care isn't just a routine -- it's a lifestyle. We're dedicated to being your favorite brand for high-performing, evolved essentials that are super cute and crafted as sustainably as possible.

I've used phone-cord elastics (which eventually pull on my hair), traditional scrunchies (which never truly fit my hair volume — tying them twice is too loose, but three times is too tight), those SHEIN hair ties that look like these (they get stretched out after about three uses, and the small elastics break after the first couple of uses), and Dollarama hair ties (they're too firm and pull on my hair).

So you can see… I haven't found a hair tie that I can truly commit to because they all failed me in one way or another — or, for some, in multiple ways.

So… I gave in.

With such a small risk — they're only $10 for 20 hair ties — I figured, if they're good, I've won! If they aren't… well… at least I know. πŸ˜‚

So I did.

And I like them!

First impressions:

  • Soft but firm (you wouldn't understand until you actually felt one)

  • Withstand water quite well — I showered with these hair ties in my hair, and they didn't lose their shape, form, or elasticity

  • Have a sort of mochi mochi (bouncy) texture

  • They don't tug on my hair (this is important!).

  • Don't pull my hair out (this is also important!)

First, I want to say: they are good, and I like them!

They're affordable given their quality, and the first time I took them out of the box, I couldn't help but notice just how firm and yet soft they are.

I don't have a lot of hair, and my hair is on the fine side, and yet these hair ties hold my hair firmly in place!

Kitsch Seamless elastic Hair Ties

Pros:

  • Available on Amazon!

  • They don't snatch my hair

  • They don't tug or get caught in the tangled mess of my hair

  • Stretchy and flexible enough to hold my hair

  • Firm enough to stay in place

  • They don't stretch out

  • I use them in the shower, and they still hold their shape and elasticity

  • I've used one for at least 3 months, and it still looks and works like brand new!

Cons:

  • Only available online (although you can sometimes find them at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Winners, etc., but there's no guarantee)

  • The selection can vary depending on where you buy them

  • They do leave a dent in my hair after I take them out

Overall thoughts

After trying so many different types of hair ties and finding something wrong with almost all of them, I'm honestly surprised by how much I like these.

They're soft without being flimsy, firm without pulling on my hair, and stretchy without becoming loose after a few uses. Most importantly, they actually stay in my hair without feeling like they're fighting with my hair. πŸ˜‚

The fact that I've been using the same one for at least three months — including in the shower — and it still looks and works like new is probably the biggest selling point for me.

These might finally be the hair ties I can commit to!

Conclusion

I went into this purchase with very little risk and honestly didn't expect to become this impressed with a hair tie. πŸ˜‚ But after trying so many different types that either tugged, stretched out, broke, or simply didn't work with my hair, Kitsch has managed to check almost every box for me.

They're comfortable, durable, water-resistant, and actually hold my fine hair in place without pulling it out. For something as simple as a hair tie, that's a pretty big win! However, that being said, they do leave a dent in my hair after I take them out, so if that is something you are concerned about, then these might not work for you. I'm not concerned, as it gives my hair a slight wavy look.
