Clinique rinse-Off eye makeup remover review

Clinique rinse-Off eye makeup remover review
Clinique's eye make up remover
So, as I mentioned, I had to attend 2 weddings over the past weekend... I see this as a good opportunity to test out my eye make up removers!

My beauty consultant at Clinique introduced me to this eye make up remover indicating that it is perfect for sensitive skin... so I decided to give it a try.

These are the claims:
Unique formula quickly removes all eye makeup, from lashes to brows. Perfect for quick makeup changes, touchups, repairs. Cleans eye area easily without disturbing other makeup. No rubbing necessary. Oil-free, blur-free, sting-free. Ophthalmologist Tested.

after a few rubs
I was quite happy with the results on my eyes... but I wanted to see how effective it was to remove the make up...to put this to the test, I decided to put eye products on my hand and see clearly how effective this make up remover is.

impressions:
  • got some product out of my eyes (please see the test results below)
  • stinging sensation (I had to squint and wash the product off immediately)
  • mild smell

these were the products I used
These are the lit of products I decided to use for this test, and they correspond to the lines on my hand
  1. Kate eye shadow palatte
  2. Kate Super Sharp eye liner
  3. Maybelline's Falsie waterproof mascara
  4. Maybelline's Express Turbo Boost mascara

the results
steps to using this make up remover:
  • Moisten cotton ball with Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent or use a cotton swab for spot work.
  • Sweep over eye makeup.
  • Tissue off or rinse with water.

The results are quite disappointing, (you can only tell that the final mascara still is present in this picture, but the others were still apparent (except for the eye shadow). I guess I had too much eyeshadow on my eyes, and that caused an illusion that this makeup remover cleaned off the products well...

I was really disappointed with the stinging sensation I experienced with this product... I thought it was for sensitive skin... but the stinging sensation was literally unbearable...

At the end of the day, I'm so glad I got my face well cleaned with LOTS of water!

Clinique rinse-off foaming cleanser review

Clinique rinse-off foaming cleanser review
what the product looks like

In French it is called mousse hydro-demaquillante. Clinique has always advertised themselves as "Allergy Tested. 100% Fragrance Free"

Clinique rinse-off foaming cleanser review
info

Impressions
  • Light & mild
  • product feels like whipped cream
  • does not foam up
  • No squeaky clean feeling
  • no fragrance
  • a little goes a long way
Packaging:
The packaging is ok, but it can be a bit difficult to get the last 10% of the product out.

Product:
The actual product feels very light and mild, sort of like whipped cream. It had a silky feeling and no real foam formed. It did not irritate my sensitive skin (so this is good for those who have sensitive skin).

I did not encounter any squeaky clean feeling and my skin did not feel tight either. HOWEVER, Remember that you must apply toner --> serum --> moisturizer after!!!

Clinique full potential lips plump and Shine lip gloss review

Clinique full potential lips plump and Shine lip gloss review
product
Clinique has always had wonderful skincare products, this is my first time using their lip product (I seriously didn't know they had such a range of lip products). I gotten myself a few of their lip products. This is the first one I used and tested.

This lip product is a nude type of lip product, it is not meant to be very obvious. You can wear it alone or on top of other lip products. Beware of its stickiness though. It also moisturized my lips too! It is perfect for all occasions and it lasts really long (compared to other lip glosses).

see the difference? it is extremely glossy

Impressions:
  • Glossy
  • Very sticky
  • Surprisingly easy to remove
  • Hair is attracted to it
  • No scent
  • Subtle colour
  • long lasting
  • moisturizes lips

Clinique full potential lips plump and Shine lip gloss review
easy applicator, extremely spongy
Applicator:
The applicator is a soft small spongy wand. I really liked the applicator because I didn't need to reapply (there was enough product to fill up my lips). Unlike other lip glosses, I do not recommend you to use your fingers to apply this product, it makes them EXTREMELY sticky...

Clinique full potential lips plump and Shine lip gloss review
easier to see the difference using my 2 fingers
It was probably a bit hard to see the difference on my lips (since the colour is so subtle), you can see the effect a little better on my fingers (not so much more, but better). I was quite happy that Flash (on a camera) wasn't such a big issue when using this product, it only created a little shine (see below image)

Pros:

  • very glossy, and shiny
  • flash does not make your lips extremely shiny
  • good applicator

Clinique full potential lips plump and Shine lip gloss review
product taken with flash

Cons:
  • very sticky
  • attracts hair
  • cannot be build able

effects of this lip gloss

I'm actually quite glad the colour is subtle (it actually looks a very obvious brown when you put it on tissue, not sure why it is so subtle on lips). It leaves a smart sleek shine to your lips yet gives it a natural feel (like: is she wearing lip gloss or are her lips really shiny looking kind of look). This product is called "Full Potentials Lips Plump and Shine for a reason, it certainly makes your lips look slightly plump.

Clinique turnaround concentrate radiance renewer serum review

Clinique turnaround concentrate radiance renewer serum review
Clinique's Turnaround Concentrate Radiance Renew Serum

My beauty consultant at Clinique noticed that my skin was oily and dry so she introduced this product "Clinque Turnaround Concentrate Radiance Renew". She told me to use it as a serum, after toner and before moisturizer. She said that this was a Exfoliate Serum and it would help my rough and oily skin.

Clinique turnaround concentrate radiance renewer serum review
the product looks milky and a bit sticky
claims:
Fast acting exfoliating serum instantly creates a luminous-from-within radiance. Reveals skin's finest texture, too. Works to optimise natural cell renewal, gently, continually, unveiling skin that's brighter, healthier, more uniform. Becomes softer, younger over time.
Apply twice a day after the 3-Step Skin Care System.  Avoid immediate eye area. Follow with appropriate treatment moisturizer.  For best results, always use sunscreen.

impressions:
  • sticky (but lightweight when your skin absorbs it)
  • may cause sensitive skin to break out slightly
  • exfoliates your skin while nurturing "new" skin to make it look healthier
  • one pump is all you need!

Prior to using this serum, I had dry "bumps" on my skin and an oily T Zone, after using this I could feel there was less oil and the bumps started to disappear (it took me about 5 days to see the changes). Unfortunately, the skin around my mouth and nose were too sensitive, after using this, I discovered some "hard Crystalized pimples" the next day... so every time I use this, I would avoid that area.

Pros:
  • spreads evenly over skin
  • a little goes a long way
  • gets rid of terrible looking bumps

Cons:
  • may cause break outs on really sensitive skin
score: 8.5/10

Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage Roll-On review

Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage Roll-On review
Clinique All About Eyes Serum
With insomnia kicking in on top of stress, my eyes have been slightly puffy. I was introduced to this by my Clinique beauty consultant. It is one of their popular products. After using it, I had to agree and was impressed by its results.

Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage Roll-On review
applicator
When I first opened the product, I was really surprised with the applicator! It seemed really useful. Just make sure that you give a few roll on (I usually do 2-3 times to make sure the product comes out properly, sometimes you need to apply some pressure to the tube for the serum to come out.

Suitable Skin Types: All

Description (by Clinique):
This instantly cooling rollerball helps massage away bags, refreshes and hydrates puffy eyes on contact. Brightens eye area immediately and over time. Combats dark circles, too. With caffeine, potent antioxidants and soothing botanicals. Oil-free, non-irritating. Ophthalmologist Tested.

Impressions
  • Light weighted
  • Cool feeling (applicator is cold and soothing)
  • Works after a few days, you can see your eye's puffiness 'inflating"

Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage Roll-On review
product is very clear (you see the slight shimmer on my hand?)
Pros
  • cooling effect (helps minimize appearance of puffiness)
  • easy to use
  • refreshing
  • "instant results" (took me 2 days to notice a significant difference)
  • your skin easily absorbs the serum
Cons:
  • cannot moisturize
  • does not get rid of dark circles (I was hoping it could)
  • only has one function: getting rid of puffy eyes

This was the first eye serum I have used to "de-puff" my eyes, so I can't compare this with other products. That being said, I was extremely impress with the results as it only took 2 days for my eyes to appear less puffy. However, quite disappointed that it did nothing to my dark circles...

Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus serum review

I have decided to grab this image straight from Clinique's official site since the pictures I took of it didn't seem to look good at all (not appealing), let alone posting them on Instagram.

The Serum is called Clinique repairwear laser focus - wrinkle & UV damage corrector. Although I do not have any wrinkles nor do I go out into the sun too much, I have noticed the significant difference it has made to my skin.

This is officially my favourite serum! I absolutely love how it absorbs into my skin immediately after application and how smooth and soft my skin feels after using it for just 2 days. (I have used this for about a month now, and I love how my skin feels so soft and smooth).

When you first put it on your hand, it feels like milk. Once you apply it on your face your skin instantly absorbs it. What is so amazing about this serum is after you have applied it to your skin it only takes a few minutes for your skin to feel so soft and smooth.

Though it is marketed for those with wrinkles or UV damaged skin, (I have neither of these) I didn't feel it being too strong for my dry skin (and other blemishes, which it did help me get rid of!). Unfortunately, it doesn't help you get rid of large pores.

I highly recommend this serum for those with really dry skin as it does make your skin feel so hydrated. But keep in mind it can be a bit pricey. I would recommend this for those who desperately need their skin to be soft and smooth for major events coming up soon (e.g. prom, formal, weddings, etc) as it instantly "fixes" your skin. It also does a great job in fixing "blemishes" and "bumps" on your skin too.
